Our Story

For more than 30 years, Dr. Stuart Donaldson, Ph.D., BCIA(SF), ABDA, director of Myosymmetries Calgary, has changed the lives of over 7000 people suffering a wide assortment of ailments and disorders. Through the combination of computerized technology and behavioural therapies, health and wellness are improved to enhance physical and mental performance. Donaldson has used unique biofeedback treatments with tremendous success for addressing concussions, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression and much more.

Many clients have struggled to find answers to their problems. With proper, research-based assessment, our staff meets the clients’ needs to treat psychological or pain related challenges.

Our Process

  • Prior to an individual’s first visit, Dr. Donaldson asks for a list of medications and supplements you may be taking to ensure the assessment is not interfered with.
  • You will have half an hour to an hour interview with Dr. Donaldson, covering details of the client’s concern, their history, onset of injury (how, when, where), lifestyle details, and other related issues.
  • You will then have a computerized brain assessment done, called a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG). This instrument passively maps the electrical activity in the brain through non-invasive, painless electrodes placed on the client’s head.
  • If needed, the client will also have a surface electromyograph (SEMG), which assesses potential muscles that may be causing pain.
  • Wait about a week for the assessments to process.
  • You will then be asked to come in for another half an hour appointment with Dr. Donaldson to review what was found and what types of treatments would be most effective. You will be given the choice if you want to receive the suggested treatment.
  • If you decide to commence with the treatment plan, you will be booked in. Each appointment is half an hour to an hour in length, and what is done depends on the client’s personalized treatment plan.

Through the combination of quantitative assessments, administered electrical stimulations, and individualized behavioural treatments, the rehabilitation process is optimized.
